Strategy Lesson Reflection

If I said that preparing for this presentation was easy I’d be lying. With the help of my partner the presentation was a breeze. I knew that audience feedback would be vital in our presentation. I wasn’t quite sure if we would get great feedback, but the classroom did a great job by being engaged with the presentation and opposing questions for the strategy. That gesture alone set the tone for a great presentation instead of it being a presentation where we were boring the audience. If I could have done something differently I would have used examples of coding keys that were more close to home. Our examples came from pictures in random classrooms.  If I could I would’ve have tried to find examples from local middle schools that we come in contact with that use coding in their classrooms. Had I been able to pull that off it would have been a living testimony that coding text is actually used. Even though that is a hard task to pull off I know that it is possible, and would have been a nice addition to our presentation. We did come across one small problem in preparation for our presentation. You can never fully rely on technology because it will fail you at the last minute. We got a taste of that as we could not figure out how to combine PowerPoint slides with a Microsoft word document. It all worked out though because we were determined to stay focused and get through the presentation.
